It can be difficult to find and try genuinely halal certified wine. I have been out trying all i can get my hands on and i think these are the best you can get.

I have included 3 from white, red and sparkling because you never know what mood will take you and its best to have a variety to choose from!

I hope you enjoy these as much as i did.

Calories – 54kcal per 100ml

Sugar – 13g per 100ml

Now, i’m starting with the sweetest one! This is a dessert wine substitute from the Halal powerhouse, Pierre Chavin.

If you have a sweet tooth, or want a chilled wine for a picnic then this is probably perfect for you.

2. Lussory Premium Chardonnay

lussory white i bought and drank for this review

Calories – 14kcal per 100ml

Sugar – 3.5g per 100ml

Alcohol – 0.0% ABV and Certified Halal

Lussory tell us they are “the worlds best non alcoholic wine”. With this offering it is hard to argue.

It has just the right amount of sweetness but is unmistakably a chardonnay. When served chilled this is a perfect fish or creamy sauce accompaniment.

It tastes nearly identically to a premium alcoholic chardonnay.

Yes you read that nutrition profile correctly! Super low in calories and sugar and it doesn’t lack in flavour.

It is made form Albariño (60%) and Airén (40%) grape varieties. On tasting, there is a structured, balanced and elegant mouthfeel.

pierre zero prestige merlot i bought and drank for this review

Calories – 19kcal per 100ml

Sugar – 4.3g per 100ml

Alcohol – 0.0% ABV and Certified Halal

This prestige merlot is a natural and vegan wine. It hasn’t been filtered with any weird animal products.

If you are vegan or into natural products then this big red could be the one for you.

You can taste the minerality, along with plenty of ripe dark fruits like plum and cherry. A pleasing hint of licorice floats across the palate too.

5. Lussory Premium Tempranillo

lussory red i bought and drank for this review

Calories – 19kcal per 100ml

Sugar – 3.8g per 100ml

Alcohol – 0.0% ABV and Certified Halal

I have to admit, i love the tempranillo grape. You get so much flavour out of it and then the oak casks add a luxurious vanilla overtone.

You get all those blackcurrant and plum notes as well as the oaky vanilla taste.

If you are after a typical Spanish red then look no further.

6. La Tautila Tinto

Tautila i bought and drank for this review

Calories – 19kcal per 100ml

Sugar – 4g per 100ml

Alcohol – 0.0% ABV and Certified Halal

Another Spanish tempranillo, i did say it was my favourite grape!

This has a slightly different flavour profile than the Lussory. I got more blueberries and blackberries. There is a nice orange note as well as the traditional smoky flavour.

There is a nice rounded mouthfeel with decent structure and body. I beautiful halal certified wine.

Halal Sparkling Wines

7. Pierre Chavin Sparkling Rose

Pierre Zero Sparkling Rose

Calories – 19kcal per 100ml

Sugar – 4.5g per 100ml

Alcohol – 0.0% ABV and Certified Halal

I drank this with my wife and sister in law, they are my usual sparkling wine testers. Absolutely everyone loved this. I wasn’t a fan of the whole Pierre Chavin range but this sparkling rose was great.

It tastes peachy and light, there is some sweetness there but compared to most non alcoholic sparkling wines it certainly isn’t too sweet

It has a nice sparkle and is very refreshing. You maybe could pass this for a sparkling wine in a blind testing. I think I would definitely use this at parties for anyone not drinking for any reason. Its much better than offering someone a coke or juice when the Champagne is flowing!

You could actually drink a bottle of this. It feels like an adult drink and not a kids grape juice.

This is really the top end, crème de la crème of the alcohol free sparkling wine world.

9. Noughty – Organic Sparkling Chardonnay

So Noughty i bought and drank for this review

Calories – 14kcal per 100ml

Sugar – 2.9g per 100ml

Alcohol – 0.0% ABV and Certified Halal

This “naughty” offering from Thompson & Scott is one for people who prefer a less sweet sparkling wine.

It has an impressively low added sugar and calorie content.

That doesn’t mean it lacks in flavour however. This tastes like a classic French bubbly and will be the belle of the ball at any dry party.
