What type of beer is Infinite Session Best ?
Infinite Session Best is a best bitter.
A best bitter is a Northern English ale dating back to the 19th century. Unsurprisingly the palate or taste should be moderate to high in terms of bitterness with floral or even earthy hops.
The body should be light to medium as should the carbonation. Best bitters are stronger than an ordinary bitter but not as strong as a strong bitter.
Infinite Session Best Ingredients
All the Infinite Session beers have the same ingredients so i can’t see any surprises here
Infinite Session Best includes…
- Water
- Barley
- Wheat
- Oats
- Hops
- Yeast
Yep, 3 grains is mildly usual as they add different types of flavour but i am always glad not to see anything too chemically to make the taste too artificial.
Infinite Session Best Nutrition
The Infinite Session range usually has a good nutritional profile. They are generally all low in carbs and sugar and as a result have a low calorie count.
| Values per 100ml or 100g |
Alcohol | 0.5% |
Calories | 10kcal |
Carbohydrate | 1.6g |
Sugars | 0.4g |
Another more than solid set of nutritional data from Infinite Session. There are not many beers with a lower total calorie count than 10kcal per 100ml. The risk with producing a skinny calorie and carb beer is that the beer can feel quite thin with not much body. Will this Best feel like that?

Infinite Session Best Look
Some cans of Infinite Session have a large trademarked ring and others like this just have linear writing. Im not sure which one is the evolution. The styling is plain but effective
The beer itself is a pleasing deep amber colour that promises lots of malt
Infinite Session Best Aroma
You definitely get some deeper malt smells, into caramel territory. That is coupled with a lighter hop bitterness which you might not find in a darker ale just.

Infinite Session Best Taste
I think if you come from northern England this type of flavour will be second nature to you, but as someone who hasn’t drank a lot of bitters, this is a bit unique.
At first i get a rich malt and slightly burnt caramel flavour but then comes the hops and bitterness. The hops certainly aren’t high citrus and pines, it is more earthy which compliments the malt very well.
The carbonation is moderate, you shouldn’t get too gassy drinking this. I find the body to be medium but not the greatest mouthfeel and of all the infinite beers, this one has the tendency to feel the thinnest.
Infinite Session Best Verdict
This is an interesting beer. Im not sure where it would fit into my drinking schedule but one to have in the back pocket (or fridge) if the mood takes.
Infinite Session Best Score
7/10 – Interesting without being must have. If you are buying the whole Infinite Session range it is a good addition but if you are just targeting specific types this would be down my list from them.
