How is Beck’s Blue made?
Beck’s Blue goes through the same brewing process as traditional Beck’s and contains the same four natural ingredients – barley, hops, yeast and water. The only difference being that Beck’s Blue undergoes de-alcoholisation
The alcohol is removed with vacuum distillation. This is a process whereby the beer is subject to a vacuum meaning it only needs heated to 30 degrees or so for the alcohol to distill out.
This low temperature keeps more of the volatile aromatic compounds that flavour the beer.

What does Beck’s Blue taste like?
My complete Beck’s Blue tasting review can be read here
It is actually pretty decent. Baring in mind that they have made this particularly low calorie and the recipe is from when your granny was little, it holds up remarkably well!
I always prefer a German pilsner style lager over a normal old plain lager. With a pilsner you get more hops, more hops for me equals more flavour. We are in a world of double IPAs so i need a bit more about my beer.
This actually delivers quite nicely. It is refreshing, just the right amount of bitterness, nice malty mouthfeel and a moderate hoppy hit.
